Great question!

Steadford University claims accreditation from the following:

  • International Accreditation Board for Business Studies (IABBS)

  • European Accreditation Council for Online Learning (EACOL)

  • International Accreditation Board of Psychology Education (IABPE)

First off, EDUCAUSE is a real organization but is NOT an accreditation body.

EDUCAUSE is actually a nonprofit association and the foremost community of IT leaders and professionals committed to advancing higher education. As for the rest of the official sounding "accreditaiton" listed, NONE of these organizations are approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education or CHEA to accredit online education.

We would NOT recommend anyone enroll in an online degree program unless their accreditation is approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education or CHEA.

Unfortunately diploma mill scams are a very prevalent issue and it can be very challenging for lawmakers to shut them down.

I'd suggest trying to get your money back and don't pay any more! Then, consult our exclusive Best Buy Online College Rankings to find the most affordable online degree options according to your major.

We pre-screen each degree program (there are over 3,000!) to make sure they hold proper accreditation so you can trust if you see it in our database, it's legit! You can also sort by cost, type of accreditation, student reviews, and reputation rankings.

    Good luck!
