Hello, I wish to know if any of the Universities mentioned in my subject line is a accredited or a recognized one for online MBA program by the US Department of Education? Best regards Chandrakanth

Hi Chandrakanth,

We've dug into both Nixon University's accreditation and Kingslake University's accreditation in the past. (Follow the links to view what we found!)

In short, NEITHER school's claimed accreditation is recognized and approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

We would NOT recommend enrolling in any online degree program whose accreditation is not approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education or CHEA.

However, there are plenty of affordable, reputable, and properly accredited online MBA programs. View GetEducated's exclusive best online MBA rankings to see our top picks.

Finally, every online school and degree you see mentioned on holds proper accreditation (we verify each) so no need to worry about diploma mills here.

Other sites do not always take care to do the same so make sure you are reviewing our list of fake college accreditation agencies and known diploma mills before sending any money to a school.

Take care!

This list gives a good detail of fake colleges. But sometimes it happens that we think some colleges are accredited but actually they are fake. How can we know that?

Great question!

The easiest way is to see if the school is in either of these databases:

  • United States Department of Education
  • Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)

If the school is NOT in one of these databases we would HIGHLY CAUTION you as that means the school DOES NOT hold proper accreditation in the United States (the hallmark of a diploma mill scam).

You should also review the top 10 Signs of a Diploma Mill Scam and look for these warning flags when looking at potential schools.
